Feroball® FBK

Design - Material - Application

The Feroball® FBK is a self-lubricating spherical plain bearing, which has been specifically developed for slow-moving or oscillating applications. The bearing has a very low stick-slip limit in the transition from standstill to motion. As with all other bearings of the Feroball® series, the FBK-bearing is ideally suited to damp or moist conditions. As in the case of the FBA-serie, the FBK-serie is also manufactured entirely from composite material and has been specifically developed for applications where weight and the use of metal components are an issue.

The Feroball® FBK-bearing is manufactured from the composite material Railko NF22 for shafts ≤ Ø20 mm and composite material Feroform PR18 for shafts ≥ Ø25 mm. Although Feroball® bearings have been developed specifically for their low stick-slip values, the Feroball® FBK-serie has a higher frictional value than the standard FBT-series – a characteristic which it shares with the fully composite FBA-serie. FBK-bearings are designed specifically for applications with a spherical housing design. The bearings are split prior to turning and therefore fit seamlessly in the housing.
